TOUR DETAILS

Capture the breathtaking beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park on our Landscape Photography tour, designed for adventurous photographers of all skill levels. This experience combines photography instruction with physical activity, as we trek to stunning, off-the-beaten-path destinations. Along the way, you’ll receive guidance on framing, lighting, and composition to make your photos as majestic as the landscapes themselves.

Led by experts with a deep knowledge of both the terrain and photography, this tour is perfect for those looking to enhance their skills while immersing themselves in the Rockies’ natural splendor. Whether it’s sunrise over alpine lakes or wildlife roaming the valleys, we’ll help you capture moments you’ll treasure forever—all while enjoying the thrill of the journey on trail hiking.

What’s Included:

Your tour includes a certified and professional wilderness guide, walkie talkies, satellite communication devices in case of an emergency, snacks, water, rain ponchos, medical kit, reservation and timed-entry permit fees, backpacks, headlamps(if needed), binoculars for wildlife viewing, as well as group and candid photography. Of course, no adventure is complete without a few dad jokes to keep the mood light! We brew fresh coffee/tea at our halfway point on every trip, and hot chocolate if requested.

After booking, we’ll connect via phone or email to discuss your desires—whether it’s focusing on wildlife, capturing an awesome group photo, or summiting a mountain.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING

Clothing & Personal Gear

  • Hiking boots or supportive trail shoes
(No open-toe sandals. Good traction is essential for uneven terrain.)
  • Long-sleeve lightweight tops
Offers sun protection and warmth during early morning or sunset sessions.
  • Lightweight hiking pants
(Avoid jeans if possible; they get heavy and restrict movement.)
  • Fleece jacket or insulated vest
Mornings and evenings cool down quickly at altitude.
  • Beanie / warm hat (optional)
  • Lightweight winter gloves (optional)
Great for sunrise shoots when handling cold camera gear.
  • Waterproof rain jacket or poncho
  • Any personal medications you may need

Camera & Technical Equipment

  • DSLR or mirrorless camera body
(Any camera capable of manual settings is perfect.)
  • Lenses
Wide-angle for landscapes; telephoto for wildlife; fast prime lenses for low light.
  • Fully charged camera batteries — bring extras
Cold temperatures drain batteries quicker at high altitude.
  • Memory cards
Preferably multiple cards or high-capacity backups.
  • Tripod
Essential for sharp landscape shots, long exposures, and low-light scenes.
  • ND filters
Great for smoothing water, long-exposure landscapes, and bright daytime control.
  • Polarizing filter
Reduces glare and enhances saturation—perfect for lakes, waterfalls, and alpine skies.
  • Lens cloths & cleaning kit
Mountain weather can shift quickly; dust, mist, and snow happen.
  • Camera bag or protective backpack
Needs to be comfortable for short hikes and protect gear from the elements.
