Email: info@estesparktourguides.com
How many people can go on a tour? (group size details)
- 1-9 people max, per guide(RMNP Regulations)
- We can accommodate however many are in your party. After 9 people, another guide is added due to RMNP Regulations.
- If you have a large group/party, let us know so we can outline what a hike with a large group looks like. RMNP has strict requirements and we are experts in navigating the details to ensure your group has a hassle free trip.
Where do we meet?
- Meet us at the Estes Park Visitor Center North entrance, 500 Big Thompson Avenue, Estes Park, CO 80517
- You will follow us into RMNP in your own vehicle. Our guides will stay in communication with you via radios throughout the drive until you arrive at the trailhead destination.
- If you prefer we meet at your hotel, we can do that also within Estes Park city limits. This needs to be communicated after booking or we will meet at the Visitor Center above
How long are your tours/excursions?
- That depends! We do our best to agree on a set time based on where we are going in the park. We have 2hr all the way to 12+ hour hiking expeditions. Your own interests guide the tour so we have flexibility in case your group has interest in seeing more animals vs. lakes or other specific feature. The exception is when we are on a destination specific hike.
Do you have the proper Estes Park specific business licenses?
- Yes, we are also insured and have all required business permits within Estes Park, State of Colorado and Rocky Mountain National Park.
- Also, the owner Thomas Pemberton serves on the Board of Directors for the Estes Chamber of Commerce & President of the Estes Park Wedding Association

90 minutes from Denver to DIA
What’s the biggest reason hikers need help from rescuers in RMNP?
Most rescues come from slips on ice, dehydration, storms, exhaustion, or losing the trail after dark. Bringing traction gear, extra water, headlamps, and proper layers reduces most risks. Starting early is one of the simplest ways to avoid trouble.
What wildlife should I be most cautious around in Rocky Mountain National Park?
Moose cause more dangerous encounters than bears in RMNP. They can charge with no warning, especially if a dog is present. Elk become extremely aggressive during the fall rut. Always keep distance, never approach calves, and give wildlife the right of way.
Which trails are safest for beginners or families in Rocky Mountain National Park?
Bear Lake, Sprague Lake, Lily Lake, and the Moraine Park meadows are great beginner options. They offer big views with minimal elevation gain. For slightly longer but still easy routes, consider Alberta Falls, or Cub Lake.
